Public Safety, National Security, Military Support Policy for PA-12

Increase funding to our city and local police, fire, and EMS departments while providing accountability,            recruitment, and transparency to our first responders.

Introduce a constitutional amendment to prevent convicted felons from holding federal office.

Strongly support our military with the necessary funding, technology/research, diplomacy, expansion of            benefits, and overdue pay raises.

Introduce and sponsor an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that forbids a felon from serving in any

       federally elected position.

Endorse common sense firearms legislation while respecting and protecting the 2nd Amendment.

Hold local corporations accountable for clean air and water initiatives through legislation that plans for

       environmental disasters.

Work across the aisle to find a compromise on the structure and role of FEMA during natural disasters.              give funding and resources to the states affected so that they can organize and decide what is best for that          state.

Military Support:

The United State’s modern military faces several key challenges and a key way to address these is an increased pay and retention bonuses. As the nature of modern warfare evolves and recruitment efforts become more competitive, military personnel retention is an increasingly important issue.

The rising cost of living, particularly in high-cost areas, can make it difficult for military personnel to make ends meet on their current pay scales. Increasing salaries helps ensure that service members are financially stable and can support their families without the need for side jobs or additional sources of income. Higher pay helps attract top-tier talent, especially in a competitive job market where private sector jobs may offer more lucrative opportunities. Offering competitive wages ensures that the military remains an attractive career option. Fair compensation can significantly impact the morale of the troops. Feeling adequately compensated for their service increases job satisfaction and strengthens the overall commitment to their mission.

Retention bonuses can be a key factor in preventing experienced personnel from leaving the military. Retaining skilled and trained members helps maintain operational readiness and reduces the need for costly and time-consuming retraining. Many military roles require specialized skills and knowledge, and retaining these individuals is crucial. Bonus incentives can encourage those with critical expertise to continue their service rather than pursue civilian careers. Offering retention bonuses tied to longer service commitments such as six-year contracts ensures that experienced personnel remain with the military for extended periods, improving stability and reducing turnover.

Adam supports an increase in pay and retention bonuses not only make the military more financially appealing, but also play a role in maintaining a stable and capable force ready to meet contemporary challenges. Beyond compensation, other factors such as mental health support, family benefits, and career development also contribute to retention and recruitment but addressing pay remains a cornerstone of the strategy. Protecting our interests in the world begins with a military ready and willing to fight for our nation.

PRO-PUBLIC EDUCATION CANDIDATE:

Adam has had a long and thoughtful journey in the public education system, both as a student and as a teacher. His perspective on the power of local school districts and the potential harms of school choice and charter schools is clear. There’s a lot of value in that belief, especially in terms of community cohesion and equitable access to resources for our students and teachers.

The idea that school choice could exacerbate achievement and socioeconomic gaps is a concern that many share, however Adam has seen it often leads to an unequal distribution of resources, leaving the most vulnerable populations behind. Charter schools, with their selective admissions and, at times, for-profit models, also raise questions about where public dollars are being directed and whether they’re being used in the most effective way to support the public good. Charters need to play by the same rules as public schools, or risk losing funding

The students under Adam’s tutelage come from a myriad of experiences and backgrounds. The diversity of where he teaches and is a graduate provides an education of its own. Students at all levels learn from one another differences from toleration and collaboration. So many public schools are a microcosm of our nation. The Department of Education must stay intact and continue to support our states with federal funding to improve the quality of life and opportunity for millions of students. Adam strongly believes that any effort to shut down the department is reckless and will impact our national security in years to come.

Mr. Forgie has seen firsthand how the diversity in the classroom fosters a learning environment that goes beyond academics. When students from different backgrounds and experiences collaborate, they’re not just learning facts—they’re learning empathy, adaptability, and the value of community. That kind of education is invaluable and goes far beyond what standardized tests measure. The way students interact with each other and develop social skills and cultural awareness is directly tied to the success of our society as a whole. Schools are more than just places of academic learning—they shape our future citizens, workers, and leaders.

The Department of Education plays a critical role in maintaining equity and quality across the nation. Federal funding helps bridge the gaps between wealthier and poorer districts, ensuring that all students, regardless of their socioeconomic status, have access to the resources they need to succeed. Without that support, those disparities, those gaps only widen. The idea of dismantling or reducing funding for the Department of Education not only puts those students at risk but also weakens the foundation of our nation’s future—our children.

As a former teachers union president of six years, he not only fought for the rights of his professional teaching colleagues, but also for the fair funding of schools similar to his own across Pennsylvania. Over those years in leadership he attended multiple rallies, seminars, and visits with state legislatures in Harrisburg to fight for the monies that are desperately needed to provide a quality education to the students of the commonwealth. Adam’s wife Allison, who is also a product of public education and a 20 year public school teacher, proudly send their  two children to the Woodland Hills School District. That decision likely speaks volumes to the value they place on public education, not just as professionals but as parents who are directly invested in the system.

Providing leadership and advocacy work as a union president—fighting for fair funding not just for your own school, but for schools across Pennsylvania is a huge commitment and speaks to Adam’s dedication to his colleagues and students. The impact of those efforts can’t be overstated, especially when one must consider how vital equitable funding is to ensuring that every student has the tools they need to succeed.

If elected to represent the PA-12th district Adam will continuously fight for students and educators. It is his sincere hope is to serve on the House Education and Workforce Committee where he can help to lead with policies that support public education and the children of this nation.
